RDs work with physicians and other health-care providers, often in hospitals, clinical or medical settings, or in public health agencies. Some dietitians provide services directly to the public. Daily responsibilities may include conducting nutrition assessments, providing nutritional counseling, reviewing menus, and developing/updating nutritional care plans. In addition to performing clinical duties, the RD will also serve as a resource for food service staff by guiding menu changes and dietary analysis.
