The Pump Operator may work around high pressured chemicals and liquids in a power plant process system. Personal protective equipment such as boots, safety glasses, ear protection and splash garments are generally required to be worn while the operator is performing work in an area or on equipment that is pressurized. The equipment used by operators includes hand tools (wrenches), portable air compressors, oxy/acetylene torches and specialty shop tools.
