They observe patients' vital signs such as blood pressure, electrocardiogram, and oxyhemoglobin saturation. PACU RNs perform diagnostic testing, including EKGs, chest X-rays, electrocardiograms, and interpret results. The goal of PACU nurses is to reduce surgical risks and provide patients with the best care possible.
