They can be expected to perform tasks such as: Build or repair mechanical equipment or machinery; assemble or repair hoists; fabricate gears, shafts, and other metal parts from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions; facilitate welding work on metal; make precision cuts with power or hand tools, and measure equipment to ensure proper fit together without direct supervision.
