The lease operator is responsible for monitoring and gathering geological data through appropriate tools and equipment, as directed by geologists and engineers. While collecting these data points, he/she can recognize when a well needs to be blown down, or another action is necessary - such as resetting equipment or bringing in additional equipment. These actions must be performed in compliance with federal guidelines, state laws, regulatory agencies, plant procedures, and other specified conditions.
