A lead carpenter must communicate with and understand the building information model (BIM), coordinate with the project supervisor regarding scheduling, coordinate and supervise other journeymen carpenters' activities on a specific aspect of a project, provide input to the foreman regarding compliance with safety procedures, report any deviation in quality control standards to the foreman, lead student apprentices, and other apprentice workers at assigned tasks.
