The Traffic Flagger Officer has primary responsibility for directing traffic and preventing accidents on roadways, sidewalks, bikeways, or parking lots in public works departments. Flagger Job Duties will include calling for police, ambulance, and/or fire department assistance when required, ensuring the safety of pedestrians, motorists, and other workers at accident sites. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to responding to complaints about traffic signal malfunctions, checking and repairing signals when necessary, checking conditions of street lights, informing police of malfunctioning red-light cameras.
