The job of an administrator includes monitoring and maintaining servers, designing and establishing backup policies, designing databases and mail routing tables, implementing security policies and alerts, troubleshooting problems, helping users resolve issues, training users on how to use the Exchange server features effectively, monitoring performance of critical components for potential bottlenecks, deciding whether a new server should be set up or an existing one decommissioned, working with relevant vendors to resolve hardware issues.
