A Directional Driller’s main function is to keep the directional drill head moving straight and in a precise direction. He or she will need to monitor the lateral, azimuth, and elevation settings of the directional drill head during the entire drilling process, as well as check its depth. An experienced Directional Driller may also have other responsibilities such as inspecting weld seams and pipe joints, conducting wastewater disposal tests, and maintaining the integrity of assembly tools.
