Camp counselors are responsible for supervising and leading a group of campers between the ages of 7-17, and organizing activities appropriate for their age group. Counselors plan games, run evening programs, lead hikes, and organize various sports and art projects. They should have a friendly personality and good communication skills. Camp counselors can work about 45 hours per week while at camp during the summer and are paid an hourly rate plus room and board. Away from camp, they complete an intensive training program on how to work with children.
