The Assistant Chief Engineer provides technical oversight of plant operations, maintenance of process and mechanical equipment, engineering support services, and preparation of operating budgets. This position is responsible for equipment projects and supervision of plant operators on rotating shifts. He/She may work collaboratively with a senior engineering staff in meeting plant goals by maintaining quality and cost objectives; ensuring that all processes operate efficiently and effectively; enhancing operating policies, procedures, and philosophies to maximize safety, environmental compliance, and profits; recommending management actions that maintain alignment with overall company goals; promoting a safe work environment through adherence to safety programs, and providing proactive leadership through example and participation.
