Working as an Air Traffic Controller in La Plata, MO

The Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic. Air Traffic controllers constantly monitor the positions of aircraft relative to each other and to the ground, determine aircraft speed, altitude, and rate of change in position, establish and maintain communications with pilots, interpret flight plans, route aircraft from point of origin to destination, assign altitudes to aircraft entering and exiting controlled airspace, instruct pilots to expedite their flights at certain locations or clear aircraft for immediate takeoff after landing.
